I came across Kara Plicanic on Instagram. She is a wedding photographer with a creative eye, and I was intrigued that she had done a TEDx talk called
Anything is Possible ~ and That's the Problem. Or is it? about her experience with OCD.
She recommends reading
Jeff Bell, and I concur that he is an eloquent writer and speaker about facing OCD and making a life.
It helps to find kindred spirits who are artists as I am, and who have made room for their creative spirit amidst the crowding of OCD thoughts.
Thanks for the link! I'm going to watch that TEDx talk right now.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for this! As a fellow OCD sufferer, I found Khara's talk most comforting and articulate in the way she describes how it's important to learn to widen our focus when OCD / life bullies us. I also write a personal blog about my self-directed journey using ERP for my OCD, entitled, 'Breaking Free from OCD: My Self-Directed Journey': http://breakingfreefromchronicocd.blogspot.co.uk/ It's helping me to process my thoughts and to hopefully help / inspire others. All the best, Gemma
