It's also an Exposure for me to do the show, since it involves being on the telephone for 15 minutes! But I'm excited to share what has helped me in hopes that it will help others with OCD, particularly health anxiety, perfectionism and indecision.
I didn't know about Healthy Place Radio, and was interested to read their blurb:
. . .HealthyPlace is a privately held company started by people who are committed to the idea of reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and who feel that making authoritative mental health information available to the general public is a key part of achieving that goal. We are based in San Antonio, Texas. Our revenues are generated through the sale of advertising on the HealthyPlace website. HealthyPlace is not owned or directed by companies that sell any products or medications. None of the articles are written or influenced by companies advertising on our website. All advertisements and sponsorships are clearly identified and labeled. (you can read our editorial and advertising policies)So be sure to tune in! The show should also be archived so you can listen to it after as well.

ReplyDeleteYou always have such insightful things to say about the nature of OCD. I'm sure you will beautiful job portraying the disorder and your own experience with it!
Wow! Good luck. YOu are very articulate in your writing, so I bet you will be fine expressing yourself. Are you going to be anonymous? Just curious.
ReplyDeleteKinder Brain & Fellow Sufferer--thanks for the encouragement about my interview! Yes, I will be doing it anonymously--Healthy Place was very gracious about letting me do this under a pseudonym. For me, the anonymity has allowed me to write more than I ever thought possible.
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to say that I listened to the interview and thought you did a great job with the limited amount of time you had! It was also nice to associate your voice with your blog!
ReplyDeleteThanks for listening Fellow Sufferer! The 15 minutes went incredibly fast, and I didn't realize I was almost to the end! But I'm glad I did it--definitely an exposure, since my OCD demands "absolute thorough completeness" which isn't possible in 15 minutes. . .
